Itinerary
8:00-8:30 AM: Our friendly guide will pick you up to begin your exploration of Hanoi City.
8:45 AM: Arrive at Tran Quoc Pagoda located on Golden Fish Island in West Lake. This is the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, built in the 6th century.
9:30 AM: Visit the Ho Chi Minh complex. You will have the chance to see the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh, then walk around the garden to see the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. Afterwards, visit the One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy. It is considered one of the most unique pagodas in the world.
Note: Dress modestly by covering your shoulders and knees when visiting the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, temples, and pagodas. The mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays, and from June 15th to August 15th for annual maintenance. However, you can still take pictures of the mausoleum and visit the surrounding area.
11:15 AM: Explore the Vietnam Ethnology Museum to learn about the culture of 54 ethnic groups living throughout Vietnam.
Special Note: On Mondays, the Ethnology Museum is closed, so we will visit the Women's Museum instead.
12:45 PM: Enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch at our restaurant, featuring 8 delectable dishes.
2:00-2:15 PM: Continue your tour at the Temple of Literature, the first university of Vietnam, established in the 11th century.
3:15 PM: Visit the Hoa Lo Prison Museum. Originally used by the French colonists in Indochina for political prisoners, it was later used by North Vietnam to hold U.S. prisoners of war during the Vietnam War. During this period, it was known to American POWs as the "Hanoi Hilton."
4:15-4:30 PM: Conclude the tour and return to your hotel.
Alternatively, for the last part of the tour, we can journey through Hanoi’s Old Quarter for some shopping and exploration. If you choose this option, the tour will end around 3:30-4:00 PM and we will skip the visit to the Hoa Lo Prison Museum.
